Privacy Policy

The legal terms that govern use of this site and the services booked through it.

This privacy notice relates to Compartmentation Surveys and the website compartmentationsurveys.co.uk. Compartmentation Surveys is the data controller for any personal information gathered through this site, meaning it determines the purpose for which that information is held and the way it is handled. The notice sets out what details we receive when you book a compartmentation survey, how those details are used, where they travel, how long they remain with us, and the choices available to you under data protection law.

Personal information only reaches us when you complete the booking form on this site. The form asks for details such as your name, a telephone number or email address, the address of the building requiring a compartmentation survey, and any notes you wish to add about the structure or its fire-separation features. We do not gather information about you through any other part of the website. Your booking form is handled by Basin, which processes the submission and delivers it to us. Please keep any notes focused on the building and the survey itself. Avoid including sensitive personal data or information relating to other individuals unless it is strictly necessary for the booking to proceed.

The details you provide are used to fulfil your booking. A copy of your booking information is passed to the specialist firm that carries out the compartmentation survey at your building. That firm will contact you directly to progress the work. From the point at which your details are shared with that firm, it is responsible for how it handles and uses them. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not use it for marketing or any purpose unconnected with your booking.

We process your personal information on the basis that it is necessary to perform the service you have booked. Where we need to retain details beyond the active booking period for administrative or legal reasons, we rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining accurate records. We do not process your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

We keep your booking details for as long as is reasonably necessary in connection with the survey you have arranged and any follow-up matters that may arise from it. Once that period has passed and there is no longer a practical reason to hold the information, it is deleted or securely disposed of. We do not retain personal information indefinitely.

Under UK GDPR you have a number of rights over your personal information. You may ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, which is known as the right of access. If any of those details are inaccurate or out of date, you can ask us to correct them. You also have the right to ask us to delete your information where there is no longer a valid reason for us to keep it. Where you believe the processing of your data causes harm or is not justified, you can object to it. In addition, you may ask us to restrict how we use your information while any dispute about its accuracy or the basis for processing is resolved. To exercise any of these rights, please get in touch using the enquiry form.

Like most websites, this site uses cookies. Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a page. They help the site function correctly and allow us to understand how visitors move through it. We cannot promise that third-party services connected to the site, such as the form processor, do not set their own cookies. You can adjust your browser settings to limit or block cookies, though doing so may affect how certain parts of the site work.

If you have any questions about this notice or about the way your personal information is handled, please reach us through the enquiry form. If you are not satisfied with the way a concern has been dealt with, you have the right to raise the matter with the Information Commissioner's Office, which is the UK's supervisory authority for data protection.
